WaveFront Dynamics has announced two new integrations with Bausch + Lomb and WAVE Eye Care, expanding scleral lens options for clinicians using the WaveDȳn Vision Analyzer and WaveDȳn Advantage optic design service.
The collaborations add Bausch + Lomb’s Zenlens CHROMA HOA lenses and additional WAVE ScleraLens designs to the WaveDȳn diagnostic ecosystem. The goal is to give eye care professionals greater flexibility when treating complex corneal cases and patients with higher-order aberrations (HOAs).
“Today’s clinicians want both precision and flexibility,” said Dan Neal, PhD, founder and CEO of WaveFront Dynamics. He said the expanded ecosystem allows clinicians to use advanced wavefront analysis while selecting the lens technology most appropriate for each patient.
Broader Options for Personalized Scleral Lens Care
The WaveDȳn Vision Analyzer measures the eye’s complete optical error, while WaveDȳn Advantage uses those measurements to create wavefront-guided scleral lens designs. Unlike conventional scleral lenses, which primarily address low-order aberrations, HOA-correcting designs can target residual issues such as glare, halos, and blur.
The new integrations connect this diagnostic information with Bausch + Lomb’s Zenlens CHROMA HOA and WAVE’s ScleraLens portfolio, giving optometrists more options without requiring a different measurement workflow for each lens platform.
The expanded compatibility may also support OD-MD comanagement by providing a shared diagnostic framework for providers involved in specialty lens care. Clinicians can use the same wavefront data to help guide lens selection and communicate treatment plans across referral relationships.
Nathan Schramm, OD, of Insight Vision Costa Mesa, said the WaveDȳn Vision Analyzer has changed his approach to scleral lens selection for complex corneal patients and that the additional lens options further enhance personalization.
Bausch + Lomb also highlighted the value of the diagnostic information for designing HOA-correcting scleral lenses. WAVE Eye Care said the expansion builds on its previous use of WaveFront Dynamics technology through EyePrint Prosthetics and extends HOA-correction capabilities to its broader ScleraLens portfolio.
The announcement did not report new safety signals because the collaborations involve diagnostic and lens-design compatibility rather than a new device or therapeutic treatment. Availability of the integrated lens options remains subject to each manufacturer’s terms.
