The road to a SILMO d’Or isn’t always a straight line. Sometimes it ZIGZAGs. This win marks a remarkable milestone for Karavan Kids, the French children’s eyewear brand that joined the Design Eyewear Group family in 2025. One year later, the brand is now an award winner on one of eyewear’s biggest stages.
Selected from a shortlist of five finalists, ZIGZAG captured the attention of the jury with its technical expertise and child-centred approach to design.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this award. ZIGZAG embodies what Karavan Kids stands for: combining thoughtful functionality with creativity and personality. We wanted to create a frame that reflects the way children experience the world: full of movement, surprises, and endless curiosity,” says the two Karavan Kids designers Jeanne Delfosse and Jeanne Vigneron.
“Every decision, from the hinge construction to the geometric patterns, was made with children’s everyday adventures in mind. To see that recognized with a SILMO d’Or is incredibly rewarding for the entire team.”
Continuing an Award-Winning Streak
The award continues an extraordinary run for Design Eyewear Group at the SILMO d’Or.
After CENSUR by Prodesign won in 2024 and FLARE by FACE A FACE took home the trophy in 2025, ZIGZAG becomes the third consecutive DEG design to earn SILMO’s highest recognition.
Perhaps even more remarkably, each winning frame comes from a different brand, with a completely different design language, philosophy, and audience.
From boundary-pushing sunglasses to experimental colour work and now award-winning children’s eyewear, the three victories reflect the diversity that defines Design Eyewear Group’s portfolio and creative culture.
